Father's Day and Pickle's Birthday Celebration

On Sunday we were lucky to be celebrating both the father's in our life, as well as our little pickle's birthday. It is hard to believe that my baby is 2!!! We had a wonderful day at my Mom's house, eating and playing together. Pickle was ecstatic at the presents that Gopa and Gobbie got for her (all Dora themed), and we ate the most wonderful cake in the world; a Cold Stone ice cream cake..... Joe was also remembering that on his first father's day, his baby was 6 days old, and we had fun looking at old pictures of her with her big head, hairy arms, and head full of stark black hair. It has been so wonderful watching my husband be a father, he is absolutely enamored with his kids, which makes it fun to watch. But I have a feeling that all the discipline will be coming from me :)
As I said above, we were also celebrating the father's in our life and we were lucky enough to spend the day with Bones (My Grandpa) who played the most adorable game of catch with Pickle. We had taken Gopa out to breakfast at IHOP to celebrate and honor him for being such a great dad to all of us. It was a great breakfast, and might need to become a tradition. All in all, Sunday was a great day reminding me about the importance of family, and the super importance of fathers in our life. Thanks Dad for always wanting the best for me, and always being there for me. Thanks Joe, for being such a great daddy to our children; it only makes me love you more. And Bones, it is awesome to think that none of this would have happened without your fatherhood... I love you!

P.S. This morning I am heading on a spectacular adventure to Italy and Greece with Ali, so updates will be in about 2 weeks.... Bon Giorno

Playdate!

Today Pickle's best friend Mimi came over to play, which is a normal Monday occurrence. We had such a great time, they are only one month apart and love to spend time together. We decided since the day was finally warm enough we would fill up the little back yard pool and have a picnic outside while they played in the water. They were so funny because their little bodies were shaking and they had goose-bumps all over but they refused to stop playing in the water. The only thing that enticed them out was a Pie pizza and some oranges. Joe and Biggie sat and watched the adventures from the shade. It was a fabulous day.

Biggie Uses His Hands!!!

Biggie used his hands for the first time this morning to pick up his penguin. It was so awesome to watch him figure out how to grasp something and manipulate it the way that he wanted too.

Graduation!

Today my baby sister graduated from high school. I could feel all the excitement that I remembered feeling when I graduated almost a decade ago. She looked so BEAUTIFUL and happy to be ending her high school career, and I got to enjoy the over-used phrases in graduation speeches (don't follow other's path's, create your own...etc.) Halfway through the rites of passage I decided that it was a good time to keep my solitare winning streak going, and by the end of my first game she was walking across the stage. Then as part of the festivities we made our way over to our favorite Indian restaurant and enjoyed the slow service that is worth the awesome and inexpensive food. It really was a day to remember! Congrats Ali!
